VCT Floors are some of the most beautiful floors when maintained correctly. There are many things that can be done on an in-house level to protect these floors and keep them looking wonderful in between professional care.

  • Outside and Inside Entry Rugsare a must. These mats will catch a large amount of the soil, gravel, concrete, and other things that the outside has to offer that you don't want on your floor. VCT uses a wax floor finish to protect it and make it shine, the less that is allowed to scuff the floor the better it will look.
  • Daily Sweeping.Making sure to sweep up and remove the dry soiling, hair and other contaminants that make it past the Entry Rugs will help to slow down the dulling of the floor finish.
  • Frequent Mopping. Going a step further than sweeping and mopping the floor can improve the look of your floors in between professional care.

Pricing:  Because of the many factors that go into the care and     maintenance of VCT Flooring, the best plan is to have a Troff                                                                                     Technician come and do an inspection. The technician will be able to                                                                            offer advice as to how to move forward with your flooring.
Our Process
We want you to be fully informed about what to expect when the Troff technician comes to your home or business, so listed below is the 6-Step Process:

Red Carpet Experience for VCT Floors:

  • Step 1: Pre-Inspection

Our technicians will do a walk through with you, to explain how the process will work, what furniture can be moved, and whether the floor needs to be completely stripped or cleaned.

  • Step 2: Area Preparation/Dry Soil Removal

Then all movable furniture is moved from the area to begin the process. Next our technicians will thoroughly vacuum the area to removal all dry soil, maximizing the results of the VCT cleaning process.

  • Quick Note
There are many methods to get the most out of your VCT flooring. The first step is to make sure things are done right. If the flooring has never been taken care of, a full strip may be the best option. If the floor has been regularly maintained then a Top Scrub is the best option. On a shorter interval bases a process called Burnishing can be performed to maintain the shine and appeal of your floors.

  • Step 3: Burnishing (Recommended every 1-4 weeks)
As you diligently sweep and mop your floors at the end of business, your floors will get to a point where they need to be buffed and shined. Depending on the traffic your floor receives this should be done fairly often to obtain the best results. This first step is always dry soil removal. Then the technicians will perform a deep cleaning of your floors. Next a solution designed to bring an unmatched shine to your floor is applied. After this solution is allowed to dry, an Ultra High Speed Burnishing Machine is used to bring out the high gloss shine that Spray Buffing is famous for. This process can be repeated multiple times before the floor will be in need of a Top Scrub.

  • Step 3: Top Scrub (Recommended every 1-6 months)

If the floors are in need of a Top Scrub the first two steps will still be performed. Next a cleaning solution designed for VCT Floors is applied and mopped on. Then a Low Speed Buffing Machine is used to work the solution into the floor. This removes soiling and the top layers of floor finish. After this, all of the Slurry (mix of floor finish and cleaning solution) is removed and the floor is rinsed. When the floor has been allowed to dry a new layer of floor finish is applied to protect your floors and bring back their shine.

  • Step 3: Stripping (Recommended every 6-24 months)

Even with regular maintenance, VCT Floors eventually reach the point where daily maintenance, Burnishing, and Top Scrubbing aren't giving the same appeal that your floors used to have and should have. This is when a full strip becomes necessary. Similar to the Top Scrub process, stripping involves applying a top-of-the-line stripping solution, mopping it into place and then using the Low Speed Buffer to remove all of the floor finish. After this all of the Slurry (mix of floor finish and cleaning solution) is removed and the floor is rinsed. When the floor has been allowed to dry 2-3 layers of floor finish is applied to protect your floors and bring back their shine.

  • Step 4: Refinishing Coat

This is the step where the floor finish is applied. The protective wax coat not only protects your VCT Floor from abrasive soil and foot traffic, but it gives your floors a shine and look unlike any other.

  • Step 5: Post-Cleaning Inspection

Our technician will go over the cleaning results and discuss how you can maintain your floors after we leave.
